Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • baking powder - 1/8 tsp
  • light corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • slices French bread 3/4-inch thick - 6 item
  • Place bread slices on rimmed baking sheet

How to make overnight french toast:

Mix all ingredients except the butter. Place bread slices on rimmed baking sheet. Pour batter slowly over bread slices. Turn to coat both sides. Cover with waxed paper or Saran Wrap and place in refrigerator overnight.

The next morning, fry in pan greased with the butter. Serve with syrup.Syrup:1 c. sugar1/2 c. light corn syrup1/4 c. water1 tsp. cinnamon Mix ingredients in saucepan. Boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add 1 cup whipping cream or evaporated milk.
