Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- eggs - 9 item
- packed brown sugar
- milk
- vanilla extract
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- light corn syrup - 1/2 c
- ground nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
- chopped pecans, toasted - 1/2 c
- light cream or milk - 3 c
- rum extract optional
- salt and dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- to 30 slices French bread, 3/4-inch thick slices - 24 item
- slices vienna bread or dry buns - 5 item
- cubed ham, cooked bacon or sausage - 1 c
How to make overnight french toast:
Praline Syrup:1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar1/2 c. light corn syrup1/2 c. water1/2 c. chopped pecans, toasted2 Tbsp. butter or margarine5 slices vienna bread or dry buns1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese1 3/4 c. milk1 c. cubed ham, cooked bacon or sausage3 eggs, beaten1/2 tsp. salt and dry mustard Line bottom of an 8 x 8-inch pan with bread or buns. Mix rest of ingredients together and pour over bread. Press down occasionally. Refrigerate overnight. Bake covered next morning for 1 hour at 350°.
