Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
How to make overnight coffee cake:
Topping:1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. nutmeg Grease (not oil) and lightly flour bottom only of 9 x 13-inch pan. In large bowl, blend all cake ingredients at low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed. Pour batter into prepared pan. In small bowl, blend topping ingredients. Sprinkle over batter. Cover. Refrigerate overnight. Heat oven to 350°. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.Recipe categories: Breads, Breakfast, Coffee cakes.
