Oven swiss steak
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chopped carrots - 1/2 c
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 oz
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/4 c
- beef round steak 3/4 inch thick
How to make oven swiss steak:
Cut meat into 4 portions. Mix flour and salt. Pound into meat. Set aside remaining flour. Brown meat in small amount of hot shortening. Place meat in shallow baking dish. Blend remaining flour with drippings in skillet. Add remaining ingredients, except cheese. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour over meat. Cover and bake 2 hours or until tender at 350°. Top with cheese. Return to oven for a few minutes until cheese is melted.Recipe categories: Very low carbs, Meat, Beef.
