Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • black pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • celery salt - 1/2 tsp
  • uncooked regular rice - 1/2 c
  • ground chuck - 1 lb
  • can 15 oz tomato sauce - 1 item
  • water omit if using cooked rice - 1 c

How to make oven porcupines:

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix meat, rice, 1/2 cup water, onion, the salts, garlic powder and pepper. Shape mixture by rounded tablespoons into balls. Place meatballs in ungreased 8 x 8 x 2 baking dish.

Stir together the remaining ingredients and pour over meatballs. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes. Makes 4-6 servings.
