Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • brown sugar - 3 Tbsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • vinegar - 1/3 c
  • cooking oil - 1 item
  • oleo - 3 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • ketchup - 3/4 c
  • prepared mustard - 2 tsp
  • chicken pieces - 3 4

How to make oven barbecued chicken:

Heat a small amount of oil in a large skillet. Fry chicken until browned. Drain. Place chicken in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. In a saucepan, saute onion in oleo until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Pour over chicken. Bake at 350° for about 1 hour or until chicken is done, basting occasionally. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
