Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
  • brown sugar - 3 Tbsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • vinegar - 1/3 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • catsup - 3/4 c
  • prepared mustard - 2 tsp
  • cut up chicken - 3 4

How to make oven barbecue chicken:

Brown chicken pieces in butter or margarine. Drain. Place in 9 x 13-inch baking dish. In skillet, saute chopped onion until tender. Stir in catsup, vinegar, brown sugar, water, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Pour over chicken. Bake in 350° oven for about one hour or until done, basting occasionally. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
