Ingredients/Components

  • Worcestershire sauce
  • margarine, melted - 1/4 c
  • seasoned salt
  • mixed nuts - 1 c
  • Chex brand cereals any kind - 8 c
  • mini-bites pretzels - 1 c

How to make original chex mix:

Combine salt, Worcestershire and melted margarine. Mix well. In a plastic bag, combine cereal, nuts and pretzels. Pour margarine mixture over cereal. Seal bag and shake well until all pieces are evenly coated. Cook as follows.

Microwave: Pour into a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on High, 5 to 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towel and cool. Store in airtight container.

Conventional Oven: Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool and store as directed.
