Oriental cabbage salad



  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • vinegar - 3 Tbsp
  • salad oil - 2 Tbsp
  • slivered almonds, toasted - 1/2 c
  • white pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • shredded cabbage - 4 c
  • green onions, chopped - 4 item
  • sesame seed optional - 2 tsp

How to make oriental cabbage salad:

Crush noodles slightly; place in colander. Pour boiling water over noodles to soften very slightly. Drain well. In a large bowl, combine noodles, cabbage, onions and sesame seed.

For dressing, in a screw-top jar, mix the seasoning packet from noodles, vinegar, sugar, oil, pepper and salt. Shake well. (Before serving, add almonds.) Pour the dressing over cabbage mixture and toss. Cover and chill several hours or overnight.
