Orange sponge cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- cake flour
- stiffly beaten egg whites - 4 item
- orange juice - 1/2 c
- well beaten egg yolks - 4 item
How to make orange sponge cake:
Beat yolks until thick and lemon colored; add sugar gradually and 2 tablespoons of juice. Blend well. Add remaining juice alternately with sifted dry ingredients, mixing until smooth after each addition. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in 9-inch ungreased tube pan in slow oven, 325°, for 1 hour. Invert pan to cool.
