  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 4 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 2 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • plain flour
  • sticks butter - 2 item
  • can Angel Flake coconut - 1 item
  • orange slice candy - 1 lb
  • soda dissolved in 1/2 c - 1 tsp

How to make orange slice cake:

Cut dates and candy with kitchen shears. Use 1/2 cup flour to coat the dates, candy and nuts. Set aside orange slice candy, pecans, coconut and dates. Mix butter and sugar in mixer. Add eggs, then milk and flour. Beat well. Blend the fruit and nuts in dough with spoon. Bake in a tube pan at 250° for 3 hours (about) or until done.
