Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1 c
- confectioners sugar - 2 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 1/2 c
- pecans - 2 c
- orange juice
- can coconut - 1 item
- orange slices - 1 lb
- box dates - 1 oz
How to make orange slice cake:
Topping:1 c. orange juice2 c. confectioners sugar Sift flour and salt together. Use to coat fruit and nuts. Cream 1 cup butter and 2 cups sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix baking soda into buttermilk. Add alternately, buttermilk and 3 cups flour into butter and egg mixture. Fold fruit mixture into batter. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 40 minutes. (Check to make sure cake is done.) While cake is still hot, pour topping mixture over cake.
