Orange slice cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- chopped pecans - 2 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 1/2 c
- butter - 1 c
- confectioners sugar - 2 c
- flour self-rising - 3 c
- fresh orange juice - 1 c
- Angel Flake coconut - 2 c
- or more orange slice candy, chopped - 1/2 lb
How to make orange slice cake:
(Coat candy and dates in a little flour before adding to cake mixture to keep from sticking together.)Cream together with mixer the butter, sugar, eggs and milk. Add flour 1 cup at a time to the creamed mixture. Add dates, candy, coconut and pecans. Mix well. Bake at 275° in a tube pan for about 2 hours.
When cake is done, mix 1 cup fresh orange juice and 2 cups confectioners sugar together. Pour over warm cake. Let sit in pan overnight or for several hours.
