Orange salad
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- hot water - 2 c
- whipping cream, whipped - 1/2 pt
- orange gelatin
- small cans mandarin oranges, drained - 2 item
- lemon instant pudding - 1 pkg
- can frozen orange juice* - 1 oz
- can crushed pineapple or chunk pineapple, drained - 1 oz
How to make orange salad:
Dissolve gelatin in 2 cups of hot water, then add frozen orange juice and stir until dissolved. Let cool in refrigerator until slightly thickened. Stir in oranges and pineapple. Chill until firm.Topping: Blend pudding and milk together and fold in whipped cream. Spread pudding mixture on top of congealed salad. Chill in refrigerator until ready to serve.
*Can leave out the orange juice and add one cup cold water and the juice of the pineapple. Works well and has a good flavor.
