sugar - 3/4 c
vanilla - 1/4 tsp
milk - 1 Tbsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
soda - 1/2 tsp
baking powder - 1/2 tsp
egg - 1 item
shortening - 2/3 c
powdered sugar
flour, sifted
orange juice - 1/2 c
grated orange rind - 2 Tbsp
soft margarine

How to make orange cookies:

Frosting:2 1/2 Tbsp. soft margarine1 1/2 c. powdered sugar2 tsp. grated orange rind1/4 tsp. vanilla1 Tbsp. milk1/2 Tbsp. orange juice Cream the shortening and sugar. Add the egg, orange juice and orange rind and mix thoroughly. Sift the flour, soda, baking powder and salt together and add gradually to the creamed mixture, blending well after each addition. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350° or until delicately browned on edges. Frost when cool.

For frosting: Mix all listed ingredients together thoroughly.
