Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • vanilla wafer crumbs
  • pkg - 3 oz
  • cornstarch - 2 tsp
  • can sweetened condensed milk - 1 oz
  • butter, melted - 1/4 c
  • orange juice - 1/2 c
  • grated orange rind - 1 tsp
  • fresh orange sections - 1 item
  • frozen orange juice, thawed - 1/4 c
  • Orange Glaze - 1 item

How to make orange cheesecake:

Orange Glaze:1/4 c. sugar2 tsp. cornstarch1/2 c. orange juice1/4 tsp. grated orange rind Preheat oven to 300°. Combine crumbs and margarine. Press into bottom of 9-inch spring-form pan.

In a large bowl, beat cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Add juice, eggs and rind; mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 55 to 60 minutes. Cool. Top with oranges, then Orange Glaze. Chill thoroughly. You can freeze the cheesecake at this point and add topping later.

Orange Glaze: In saucepan, combine the sugar and cornstarch; add the orange juice and rind. Mix well. Over medium heat, cook and stir until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
