- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk
- margarine - 1 c
- pecans - 1 c
- orange juice
- grated orange rind - 1 Tbsp
How to make orange cake:
Topping:1 c. orange juice2 Tbsp. grated orange rind1 1/2 c. sugar Preheat oven to 325°. Mix first 3 ingredients together. Cut and sprinkle a little flour on dates. Mix remaining ingredients together and combine with first mixture. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour in 13 x 2-inch loaf pan, greased and floured.Simmer topping mixture. Punch holes with cold meat fork in hot cake. Pour hot topping over hot cake.
