Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 4 item
- sugar - 2 c
- flour - 2 c
- 1/2 sticks margarine - 1 item
- orange juice - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- Beat eggs well; add sugar gradually and beat on medium speed
- box 10x sugar - 1 item
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
How to make orange cake:
Place orange juice and margarine on low heat. Beat eggs well; add sugar gradually and beat on medium speed. Slowly on lowest speed, add flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Add hot orange juice and melted margarine; continue mixing on low speed. Lastly, add salt, baking powder and vanilla. Pour into 2 baking pans or 13 x 9-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 25 to 40 minutes. Let cool and use Orange Icing to complete.Orange Icing: rind and juice from 1 orange1 box 10x sugar1/2 stick margarine Grate orange and squeeze juice or use frozen concentrate. Cream 1/2 cup 10x sugar with margarine and rind. Add more sugar and juice until consistency to spread on cake. Enough for 2 layer cake.
