Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- beaten egg - 1 item
- orange juice - 1/2 c
How to make orange cake:
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add egg and mix. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with juice, beating thoroughly. Add 1 teaspoon grated orange rind.Fruit Pudding: Sweeten and spice to taste two cups canned or frozen blueberries or other juicy, quick-cooking fruit and place in greased casserole dish. Spoon orange cake batter over fruit. Bake about 30 minutes in a 350° oven. Serve warm or cold with or without milk or vanilla ice cream.
