Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- powdered sugar
- orange juice - 3 tsp
- grated orange rind - 1 Tbsp
- orange juice fresh - 3/4 c
How to make orange cake:
Orange Glaze:1 c. powdered sugar3 tsp. orange juice Put flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, orange rind, juice and eggs in large bowl of electric mixer. Stir, then beat at medium speed for 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally (batter will be very stiff). Turn into greased and lightly floured 8-inch pan. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on rack a few minutes; remove to serving plate and spread with glaze.Glaze: Mix until smooth the powdered sugar and orange juice to make a moderately thick glaze.
