  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • melted margarine - 1 item
  • baking powder - 1 Tbsp
  • shortening - 1/4 c
  • margarine - 1/4 c
  • grated orange peel - 1 tsp
  • orange juice - 1/2 c
  • sugar, divided - 2/3 c

How to make orange biscuits:

In saucepan, combine orange juice, 1/2 cup sugar, margarine and orange peel. Cook and stir over medium heat for 2 minutes. Divide among 12 muffin cups; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture forms a ball. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough 1 minute. Roll into a 9-inch square, about 1/2-inch thick. Brush with melted margarine. Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar; sprinkle over margarine. Roll up. Cut into 12 slices, about 3/4-inch thick. Place slices, cut side down, over orange mixture in muffin cups. Bake at 450° for 12 to 16 minutes.
