Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- melted margarine - 1 item
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- margarine - 1/4 c
- grated orange peel - 1 tsp
- orange juice - 1/2 c
- sugar, divided - 2/3 c
How to make orange biscuits:
In saucepan, combine orange juice, 1/2 cup sugar, margarine and orange peel. Cook and stir over medium heat for 2 minutes. Divide among 12 muffin cups; set aside.In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture forms a ball. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough 1 minute. Roll into a 9-inch square, about 1/2-inch thick. Brush with melted margarine. Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar; sprinkle over margarine. Roll up. Cut into 12 slices, about 3/4-inch thick. Place slices, cut side down, over orange mixture in muffin cups. Bake at 450° for 12 to 16 minutes.
