Onion salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- water
- vinegar
- mayonnaise
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- peeled and sliced onions - 1/2 gal
How to make onion salad:
Peel and slice onions and set aside. Make marinade of the water, sugar, vinegar and salt; boil. Pour boiling hot over the prepared onions and keep in refrigerator overnight.In the morning drain real well, then stir in the mayonnaise and celery seed. Mix well. Refrigerate and serve a few hours later.
