Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- half and half - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- olive oil - 1 Tbsp
- chopped parsley - 1 item
- grated Swiss cheese - 2 oz
- pie crust - 1 item
- pinch of nutmeg - 1 item
- sweet onions, sliced thin - 4 item
How to make onion pie:
Partially bake crust. Saute onions in oil and butter over low heat until golden yellow. Beat eggs, half and half, flour, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Add onions and half of the grated cheese. Pour into crust. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Garnish with parsley. Serves 4.Recipe categories: Main dish, Savory pies, Onions.
