Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • medium onions, sliced - 4 item
  • stick margarine or butter - 1/2 item
  • sharp cheese, grated - 1 c
  • saltine crackers, crushed - 12 item

How to make onion casserole:

Saute onions in butter or margarine until tender. Line 8 x 8-inch buttered casserole with crushed crackers. Mix onions with chicken soup and pour over crackers. Beat eggs with milk, salt and pepper. Pour over the mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350° until brown and bubbly, approximately 35 to 40 minutes. Let set for 15 minutes before serving.
