Ingredients/Components

  • half and half - 2/3 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter, melted - 1/4 c
  • Swiss cheese, grated - 1 c
  • coarsely chopped onions - 8 c
  • long grain rice uncooked - 1/2 c

How to make onion casserole:

Cook rice in 5 cups boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain. Set aside. Cook onions in butter until limp but not browned. Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Pour in a 2-quart casserole. Bake 1 hour at 350°. Serves 8.
