- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- sugar - 1 c
- egg, unbeaten - 1 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- Cream butter; add sugar gradually
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
How to make one egg cake:
Mix flour; add baking powder and salt. Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Add egg and beat thoroughly. Add flour alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Bake in a greased pan, 8 x 8-inches, at 350° for 50 minutes.Sauce for Topping:1 c. water1/2 c. sugar2 Tbsp. cornstarch Cook until transparent. Add vanilla and butter.
