One dish chicken 'n gravy
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- melted butter - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- grated cheese - 1 c
- sliced mushrooms - 1/4 lb
- fryer, cut up - 3 3
- Carnation milk - 2/3 c
- can mushroom soup - 1 oz
- to 10 small cooked onions canned - 8 item
How to make one dish chicken 'n gravy:
Dip chicken in flour. Place, skin side down, in melted butter in 2-quart shallow baking dish. Bake, uncovered, in a 425° oven for 30 minutes. Turn chicken and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer. Pour off excess fat. Add onions and mushrooms.Mix Carnation milk, soup, cheese, salt and pepper; pour over chicken. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired. Cover dish with foil. Bake at 325° for 15 to 20 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
