Ingredients/Components

  • ground beef, fried and drained - 1/2 lb
  • bacon, fried and drained - 1/2 lb
  • onion, chopped and fried with beef - 1 item
  • brown sugar - 1/3 c
  • catsup - 1/2 c
  • mustard - 3 tsp
  • pepper and salt - 1 tsp
  • white sugar - 1/3 c
  • barbecue sauce - 1 c
  • chili powder optional - 1/2 tsp
  • large cans pork and beans - 2 item
  • large cans chili beans - 2 item
  • large can lima beans, drained - 1 item

How to make old settlers beans:

Mix together the brown sugar, catsup, mustard, salt, pepper, white sugar, barbecue sauce and chili powder. Mix with the cooked beef, bacon and onion. Add the beans. Mix all together. Pour into crock-pot; cook on low for 1 hour or more. Serve with cornbread.
