- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- plain flour correct measurement
How to make old fashioned tea cakes:
Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly. Add egg and beat until creamy. Add soda dissolved in vinegar. Add vanilla and then add flour gradually to make a stiff batter that can be rolled very thin.
