Old-fashioned lemonade
Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 2 c
- water - 1 c
- fresh mint optional - 1/2 c
- freshly squeezed lemon juice - 1 c
- syrup with 3/4 c - 2 Tbsp
How to make old-fashioned lemonade:
Boil sugar and water in a small saucepan for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Cool, then pour into jar and refrigerate. To serve, stir 2 tablespoons syrup into three-fourths cup water. Add ice. Makes enough for 20 servings.For a minted version, add 1/2 cup fresh mint (twist it to crush the leaves slightly) to the sugar-water before boiling.
