Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- flour - 3 c
- brown sugar - 2 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- confectioners sugar - 1 lb
- buttermilk - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- firmly packed brown sugar - 1 c
- nuts - 1 c
- raisins - 1 c
- allspice - 1 tsp
- blackberry jam - 1 c
- Makes 3 8-inch layers
How to make old fashioned jam cake:
Mix all ingredients together very good and bake at 350° until done. Makes 3 (8-inch) layers.Frosting:2/3 c. butter or margarine1 c. firmly packed brown sugar1/2 c. milk1 lb. confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla Melt butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and milk; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil gently 5 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Blend in confectioners sugar, beating until smooth. Add vanilla.
