- cubed beef chuck - 2 lb
- boiling water - 4 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- clove garlic - 1 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- to 2 bay leaves - 1 item
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- sugar - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- dash of allspice or cloves - 1 item
- carrots - 1 item
- potatoes - 1 item
How to make old fashioned beef stew:
Mix together and put in crock-pot on high for 1 hour. Then cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Remove bay leaves and garlic. Thicken as desired.Recipe categories: Main dish, One Dish meal, Stew.
