Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 1/4 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- cornmeal - 1/4 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped tomato - 1/2 c
- Season-All - 1/4 tsp
- thinly sliced okra - 1 c
- hot peanut oil - 1 item
- Creole seasoning turmeric is good substitute - 1/2 tsp
How to make okra fritters:
Combine the first 9 ingredients, stirring well. Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls into hot oil; cook until golden brown, turning once.Note: If using self-rising flour and meal, omit salt.
