Ingredients/Components

  • butter, softened - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 Tbsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • firmly packed brown sugar
  • orange extract - 1/2 tsp
  • quick oats uncooked

How to make oatmeal scotchies:

Preheat oven to 350°. In small bowl, combine flour, baking power, baking soda and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, eggs and water; beat until creamy. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in oats, Nestle butterscotch morsels and orange extract. Drop by slightly rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
