Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- quick oats - 1 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- melted shortening - 1/2 c
- tsp salt - 1 item
- c flour - 1 item
- tsp baking powder - 1 item
How to make oatmeal muffins:
Soak oats in buttermilk 1 hour. Add beaten egg and brown sugar. Sift flour, salt baking powder, soda and add to mixture. Then add melted shortening. Do not beat to much. Put in greased muffin pans and bake 20 minutes at 400°. Can add 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Muffins.
