Ingredients/Components

  • flour - 2 c
  • buttermilk
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • plus 2 Tbsp - 1/2 c
  • melted butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • uncooked oatmeal - 2 c

How to make oatmeal flatbread:

Mix all ingredients and chill overnight. Divide dough into egg-sized balls and roll into very, very thin sheets on a flour-covered pastry cloth. Transfer to cookie sheets and bake at 325° to 350° until light tan. It does not need to be turned over. Store in closed container to keep dry. Serve with butter.
