Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- quick-cooking oats - 3 c
- chopped California walnuts - 1/2 c
- sifted enriched flour
- well beaten eggs - 2 item
How to make oatmeal crispies:
Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Add oats and nuts. Mix well. Shape in rolls; chill thoroughly. Slice 1/4-inch thick. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in moderate oveRecipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
