  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • oatmeal - 3 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • nuts if desired - 1 item
  • chocolate chips if desired - 1 pkg

How to make oatmeal cookies:

Mix sugar and shortening until creamy. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour, soda and salt to mixture and mix well. Add oatmeal. Bake at 350° for 7 to 10 minutes.
