Oatmeal cookies
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- quick cooking rolled oats - 3 c
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- raisins - 1 c
- sifted all-purpose flour
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1 tsp
How to make oatmeal cookies:
Preheat oven to 400°. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs together until light and fluffy. Stir in buttermilk. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture. Stir in oats, raisins and nuts. Drop from tablespoon 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in hot oven (400°) about 8 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pan.
