Oatmeal cookies
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour
- brown sugar, packed - 3/4 c
- ground cinnamon - 2 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- uncooked oatmeal - 3 c
- 1/2 sticks butter, softened - 2 item
- chopped pecans or raisins - 1 c
How to make oatmeal cookies:
Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugars until creamy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well.Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg and add to butter mixture. Mix well. Add oatmeal and nuts. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 - 9 minutes. Cool for 1 minute in cookie sheet. Then remove to wire rack. Cool. Store in airtight container.
