  • brown sugar - 3/4 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • hot water - 1 Tbsp
  • oatmeal - 2 c
  • white sugar - 3/4 c

How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies:

Cream the shortening, brown sugar and white sugar. Add eggs. Add hot water, vanilla, salt, soda and flour; beat well. Add oatmeal and beat. Add chocolate chips and nuts. (One-half cup of coconut may be added for extra crunch.) Bake at 350° on gre
