Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients/Components

• vanilla - 1 tsp
• granulated sugar - 1/2 c
• pkg - 1 oz
• chopped nuts - 3/4 c
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• all-purpose flour
• margarine or butter, softened
• firmly packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
• salt optional - 1 tsp
• Quaker oats Quick or old fashioned, uncooked - 3 c

How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies:

Heat oven to 375°. Beat together margarine and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to margarine mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Store in tightly covered container. Makes 6 dozen cookies.
