Oatmeal caramelitas
Ingredients/Components

- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- margarine or butter, softened
- brown sugar, packed
- quick cooking oats - 2 c
- flour all-purpose - 2 c
- jar caramel ice cream topping 1 c - 12 oz
How to make oatmeal caramelitas:
Filling:6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips1/2 c. chopped nuts12 oz. jar caramel ice cream topping (1 c.)3 Tbsp. flour Heat oven to 350°. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan. Measure all crust ingredients in large bowl. Using low speed on mixer, combine until crumbly. Press 1/2 of mixture into prepared pan. Reserve remaining mixture for topping. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle warm crust with chocolate chips and nuts.Combine caramel topping and flour; blend well and drizzle evenly over chocolate chips and nuts. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours; cut into bars. Makes 36 bars.
