Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- white sugar - 1 c
- quick oats - 1 c
- nuts or raisins - 1 c
- Let stand 10 minutes
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour boiling water over quick oats. Let stand 10 minutes. Cream both sugars and butter together. Add mix with oatmeal mixture. Add 2 eggs, also dry ingredients. Add vanilla; mix well. Bake at 375° until ready.Topping:1 c. brown sugar1 c. coconut1 c. nuts or raisins1/4 c. milk6 Tbsp. butter Mix well; spread on top of cake and put under broiler for 15 minutes. Serve when warm.
