  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • oatmeal - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • canned milk - 1/4 c
  • Beat Crisco, white sugar, brown sugar and eggs well and add to oatmeal mixture
  • Angel Flake coconut or 1 c - 1 c

How to make oatmeal cake:

Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let cool. Beat Crisco, white sugar, brown sugar and eggs well and add to oatmeal mixture. Stir in flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Add to first mixture along with the chopped nuts. Bake in long pan at 350° for 35 minutes.Glaze For Cake:3 Tbsp. melted butter1/2 c. brown sugar1/4 c. canned milk1 tsp. vanilla1 c. Angel Flake coconut or 1 c. pecans * *I put both in.

Mix, spread on cake and place in oven to brown, or put under broiler.
