Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- plain flour
- white sugar - 1 c
- quick-cooking oats - 1 c
- can coconut - 1 item
- oil or margarine - 1/2 c
- Let stand
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour boiling water over oats. Let stand. Sift together flour, cinnamon, soda and salt. Add sugar, eggs and oil, then add oatmeal. Mix well. Bake at 350° in greased and floured pan for 30 to 40 minutes.Oatmeal Cake Topping:1 stick margarine1/2 c. chopped nuts1 c. brown sugar1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. evaporated milk1 can coconut Dissolve the sugar and milk. Add butter and cook. Stir almost constantly until mixture boils and becomes thick. Take from heat and add vanilla, nuts and coconut.
