Ingredients/Components
- boiling water
- quick oats - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- brown sugar - 1 c
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- flour
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- Set aside
- egg whites, beaten - 2 item
- nuts - 1 c
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour hot water over oats. Set aside. Cream margarine and sugars. Add 1 egg, at a time and beat. Add oatmeal mixture to cream mixture. Then add dry ingredients. Mix. Bake in greased and floured pan at 350° for 20 minutes.Topping:1/2 stick margarine1 c. brown sugar2 egg whites, beaten1 c. nuts Over low heat, melt sugar and margarine. Blend in egg whites and nuts.
