Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- boiling water
- stick butter - 1 item
- white sugar - 1 c
- quick oats - 1 c
- canned milk - 1/2 c
- can coconut - 1 item
- For Icing:1 stick butter
How to make oatmeal cake:
For Icing:1 stick butter3/4 c. brown sugar1/2 c. canned milk1 tsp. vanilla1 can coconut Pour boiling water over oats. Let stand 30 minutes. Cream butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add this creamed mixture to oatmeal mixture. Add flour, cinnamon, soda and salt. Pour into greased and floured sheet pan and bake 35 minutes in 350° oven.As for topping, melt butter, brown sugar, canned milk and vanilla together. Bring to a boil and beat. Add can of coconut to it and then put on cake when it is done.
