  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1/4 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • flaked coconut - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • quick oats - 1 c
  • Carnation milk - 1/4 c

How to make oatmeal cake:

Topping:1/4 c. brown sugar1/2 c. granulated sugar1 c. flaked coconut1 c. chopped nuts6 Tbsp. butter or margarine1/4 c. Carnation milk1/4 tsp. vanilla Pour boiling water over oats. Mix well. Cream butter and sugars. Sift or mix dry ingredients together. Stir into oatmeal mixture. Bake in greased 13 x 9 1/2-inch pan at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool in pan and spread with topping.

Topping: Combine ingredients, except vanilla. Heat until bubbly. Stir in vanilla. Spread over cake. Broil until golden brown, 5 minutes.
