  • boiling water - 1 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • flour
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • In large mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; add oatmeal mixture and mix well

  • nuts - 1 c

How to make oatmeal cake:

Combine oatmeal, oleo and boiling water; let stand for 20 minutes. In large mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; add oatmeal mixture and mix well. Bake in a greased 13 x 9-inch pan at 350° for 30 minutes. Spread Topping on cake while hot.Topping:6 Tbsp. oleo1/2 c. sugar1 c. coconut1 c. nuts In saucepan, combine all; heat to boiling. Spread on cake. Broil 1 to 3 minutes or until coconut is browned and Topping is bubbly.
